I’m also mulling over About the Artist, $52.99 US on Modcloth. I love it and find it really cute, but I just can’t make up my mind about the ruffles down the front of the dress. I’m rather large busted and I worry that it might look weird. Are they flat enough and spaced well? Or will they accentuate the wrong area?

I keep this baby on my desk with cleansing pads to remove my makeup on lazy nights. Gentle yet effective, it removes eye and face makeup with no burning or irritation. As a micellar solution, it has no scent and is alcohol and soap free. I picked this up on sale at Shoppers Drug Mart months ago for around $19 CA.
Benefit Cosmetics’ Box of Powders are a particular favourite of mine. I’m well into collecting every available one. I love the smell, colours, shimmer, and colour payoff of these blushes and bronzers.
Dandelion was no exception. A pastel pink finishing powder that I use all over my face to brighten and lessen my current sallowness. Dandelion is “delicately spun with mauves and pinks” with a little bit of shimmer. The powder has it’s usual subtle flower scent, a favourite early morning perk up for me.
On Sephora for $28 US and $36 CA. A little pricey, but they are good colours and products.
I received a sample of Sula Beauty Lipgloss in Secret Crush in one of my beauty sample boxes. On the Sula Beauty website the colour is described as ruby, but I found it to be a cooler toned sheer berry shade. Not sticky in the slightest, it feels soft and light on the lips. The gloss smells pretty and has a very faint taste that I didn’t find offensive. I’m still not a big lipgloss fan, I prefer lipstick. This will probably remain in the lipgloss pile I rarely use, habits are hard to break.
It’s selling for $8 on Sula Beauty and there are 8 shades in total.
I fell in love with this dress while browsing the Dress911. A beautiful blue, early 80’s feel, and white crochet detail just screamed me. Unfortunately, the size issue again, the chest is too small. Boo.
On Dress911 for $49.94 CA.
My current favourite mascara has to be the Lise Watier 24 Hrs Glam Mascara. The brush is a perfect shape for my fine lashes and the formula coats my lashes very nicely without the dreaded clumping, flaking, smudging, or spidery effect. My hard to curl lashes keep some of their shape for the day with only one coat. As for the 24 hrs claim, I’m unsure. It does holdup for 13-14 hrs, after which I remove it.
Another benefit is that because of the non-smudging and non-flaking formula, my chronically dry – contact lens wearing eyes don’t get irritated. Big bonus in the dusty workplace in which I spend 8-10 hrs a day staring at a computer.
Available from Shoppers Drug Mart and the Lise Watier website for around $22 CA.
