April Glossy Box

Posted on

April’s Glossy Box came in last week with three full-size products within. Glossy Box is a monthly beauty box provider that operates in Canada for $15 a month.

Inside this month’s box was a sample packet of Marcelle BB Cream in light to medium (a favourite of mine I wrote about in this blog post), a 250 ml tub of Wella Brilliance Conditioner and 150 ml tube of the Treatment (both containing diamond dust for “brilliance”), a full-size 9 ml tube of Marcelle Xtension Plus Mascara I’ve been wanting to try, a full-size 240 ml Elizabeth Grant Skin Care Shower Gel in Apricot, and a full-size 120 ml pump container of Aveeno Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer. All in all, a well-stocked box.

I’ve really been wanting to try the moisturizer and mascara. I am happy that the gel doesn’t have an overwhelming scent, so I’ll give it a whirl. The shampoo and conditioner are for colour-treated hair, which I’ll use even though my hair is undyed. I’m sure it can’t hurt my hair.

Cheeks > Benefit Cosmetics.

Benefit Cosmetics’ Box of Powders are a particular favourite of mine. I’m well into collecting every available one. I love the smell, colours, shimmer, and colour payoff of these blushes and bronzers.

Dandelion was no exception. A pastel pink finishing powder that I use all over my face to brighten and lessen my current sallowness. Dandelion is “delicately spun with mauves and pinks” with a little bit of shimmer. The powder has it’s usual subtle flower scent, a favourite early morning perk up for me.

On Sephora for $28 US and $36 CA. A little pricey, but they are good colours and products.

Bad Gal Lash a Fail

Eyes > Benefit Cosmetics.

I received  samples of Bad Gal Lash in 2 of the Benefit makeup sets I ordered from Sephora and as well as a sample bonus from Sephora. The morning I gave this a whirl I thought it was a keeper in my everyday eye. My lashes are wimpy, like my hair and super-volumizing mascaras only make my lashes look clumpy. It just doesn’t work. I don’t have enough lashes to look natural with these. This mascara delivered perfectly. By lunch, my perfect lashes were flaking off and coating my dark circles, making them even darker. This mascara would probably work better for fuller lashes. Selling on Sephora for $19 CA for a 0.3 oz tube.
