Covergirl Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balm

One swipe on left, three on right.

One swipe on left, three on right.

I picked up a stick of the new Covergirl Lipperfection Jumbo Gloss Balm (what a mouthful of a name) in colour 250 Scarlet Twist. This lip crayon is moisturizing with a soft natural shine, with a sheer and buildable colour.

The shade Scarlet Twist is pretty and soft on my lips. While the colour is a little cooler-toned than I normally buy, the sheerness of the finish allows my warmer tones to come through. I’m also a fan of the newer crayon styles of lippies. They’re easy to toss into a purse or pocket and the application of crayons are foolproof even without a mirror.

Currently retailing for $12.99 CA at Shoppers Drug Mart. Available in 16 shades.

Sula Beauty

Makeup | Sula Beauty.

I received a sample of  Sula Beauty Lipgloss in Secret Crush in one of my beauty sample boxes. On the Sula Beauty website the colour is described as ruby, but I found it to be  a cooler toned sheer berry shade. Not sticky in the slightest, it feels soft and light on the lips. The gloss smells pretty and has a very faint taste that I didn’t find offensive. I’m still not a big lipgloss fan, I prefer lipstick. This will probably remain in the lipgloss pile I rarely use, habits are hard to break.

It’s selling for $8 on Sula Beauty and there are 8 shades in total.

Bailey Cosmetics Lip gloss

I received a full-size Bailey Cosmetics lip gloss in my March Glossybox. Brian Bailey is a Canadian clothing designer and has a cosmetics line. The lip gloss tube is a metallic purple-rose colour and is made of sturdy aluminium (I believe). On the side of the tube, there is a clear window to see the colour and quantity remaining. The packaging does not feel cheap. The applicator is plush and resembles the doe foot style.

The lip gloss itself looks like a scary purple on the applicator, but when swatched it becomes a sheer berry colour. On this lips, the gloss is moisturizing and comfortable to wear. The colour itself resembles a bitten lip effect and then fades to a stain. It didn’t last through much sipping however, which is a fail for me.

The lip gloss is available on the Beauty Never Sleeps website and is currently retailing for $28 CA for the individual lip gloss in Berry or Fresh (nude-pink) or $40 CA for the pair.
