Ah ShoeMint. They make shoes I truly cannot resist. Meet Lorena, one of this month’s selections. Including shipping, my bill came to just shy of $100 CA ($79.98 in the US with free US shipping). Also available in Blush with black trim, Lorena is made from suede and has a 5″ heel with 1″ platform (ruh roh). There is a zipper up the back and lace-up front. I see this well-styled with some of my vintage flavoured dresses.

Chloe Blouse Black | Bettie Page Clothing.

Here’s a breezy chiffon blouse for those hazy days. A front button-down style with gathered sleeves is a wardrobe staple I love. Available in black with white dots or pink with black dots in sizes extra-small to 4X. $53 US on Bettie Page Clothing.

Elegance at Its Best Full Slip in Peach | Mod Retro Vintage Underwear |

I really need one of these. Everyone’s been there, but a light source shining behind me resulting in a see-through dress sucks. Not as bad as the time I walked four blocks down Main Street with my skirt tucked into my pantyhose, but still a malfunction. The four blocks down a busy summer street with my ass hanging out finally ended when a kind passerby clued me in.

Available on Modcloth in ivory, peach, and black for $47 US. The sizes range from an extra-small to 3X.

Bettie Page clothing is another retro-flavour website I’m checking out and am thinking of ordering from at some point. The retro styling of their line is from the 1940’s-1960’s. Some of their dresses are up on ModCloth.  This dress is in sizes XS-4X, available in red or black, and is selling for $126.00 US  on the Bettie Page site.

Upcoming Coveting

Since beginning blogging, I have re-discovered my preference for skirts and dresses. I am almost only buying these and am only buying the occasional pair of pants or shorts. I’ve decided to roll with it.

Here’s one I’m cyber-longing for on the Canadian webstore Dress911 (their description is “We adore indie-viduality!). At this stage, it’s called simply June/July and no price is listed but I’m in love. 1960’s fashion made for the 2010’s. The fabric, nipped in waist and collar in a contrasting colour, and silhouette are covet-worthy.

I’m also mulling over About the Artist, $52.99 US on Modcloth. I love it and find it really cute, but I just can’t make up my mind about the ruffles down the front of the dress. I’m rather large busted and I worry that it might look weird. Are they flat enough and spaced well? Or will they accentuate the wrong area?

Blue Chapel

I fell in love with this dress while browsing the Dress911. A beautiful blue, early 80’s feel, and white crochet detail just screamed me. Unfortunately, the size issue again, the chest is too small. Boo.

On Dress911 for $49.94 CA.
