Ah ShoeMint. They make shoes I truly cannot resist. Meet Lorena, one of this month’s selections. Including shipping, my bill came to just shy of $100 CA ($79.98 in the US with free US shipping). Also available in Blush with black trim, Lorena is made from suede and has a 5″ heel with 1″ platform (ruh roh). There is a zipper up the back and lace-up front. I see this well-styled with some of my vintage flavoured dresses.

I love these. They remind me of a lower heeled style that I wore in the 1980’s as a child. The shoes made me feel so pretty and grown-up. I’m having a lot of trouble resisting these. $68.99 US on ModCloth.
Canadian shoe designers and store Aldo are having a 50% and 60% off sale and I ordered these two pairs of sandals a couple of weeks ago. At $40 each, these were a steal. I am a bit of a stereotypical woman who loves shoes, and these screamed my name. Add in free shipping for orders over $75 and I was whipping out my card. I am justifying these by the lack of high-heeled sandals in my closet. The fact that my husband just sighs and admires them is wonderful (he’s a big man, 7 inches taller than me).
I fell down and hit my head again at the ShoeMint website. The April showroom is up, and I feel in love with these two lovelies. I picked up the Lea in cognac and nude. They went for $79.98 US and will be my new casual summer shoes. Still two feet of snow, so I’m hoping spring is sprung soon up here.
I have a bad habit. I’m a real sucker for subscription clubs. Cosmetics and now shoes. Hmm. Living in the sticks does have its advantages, it gives me an excuse to shop on-line. After having a positive experience with ShoeMint, I decided to give ShoeDazzle a go. It’s similar to ShoeMint, except half the price and not leather. The credits $39.95 US and shipping is $9 to Canada. The credits are charged to your credit card the first five days of the month unless you skip the month.
I’m a little concerned about the quality. The shoes are not made from leather and my past experiences with non-leather shoes have been negative. Life up here can have harsh conditions; there is a lot of salt and gravel on the roads during the winter and our smaller town only has sidewalks downtown. We can alternate between intense heat and pouring rain during the spring, summer, and fall. I will probably only wear these at work and conferences and wear flats when bopping around town.
I splurged on a trifecta: the red, black, and cobalt blue. The Malika is a pre-order and they will not be shipped until April 4. Fine by me, there is still a couple of feet of snow and salt outside and spring is taunting me from afar.
I joined ShoeMint last week, because really, who can resist another pair of shoes? I certainly can’t. In my small northern BC community, online shopping is the only way to go to have any amount of choice. ShoeMint is the newest monthly shoe subscription programs available in Canada. My pair of Rosemary pumps in nude arrived in the mail today, and I am impressed.
The shoes are made from quality leather and materials and seem to be well made. ShoeMint sells their shoes by credits. The first week of every month, $79.98 US will be billed to my credit card unless I pass. So far, each pair of shoes on their website, http://www.shoemint.com has cost one credit. Additional credits are available for purchase if you want to buy more than one pair. Shipping cost me $12 and the package arrived within a week.
Rosemary is now sold out, but anyone who wants a pair can add their name to the waitlist. Right now I’m online stalking Veronique in black. I really need to update my classic shoes wardrobe.
